What is the PHINMA National Scholarship Program?

The PHINMA National Scholarship Program is an educational assistance initiative that provides full financial support and leadership development opportunities to deserving students. In addition to financial assistance, scholars may receive mentoring, training, and support for professional development and board examinations.

The program also promotes leadership, community service, and nation-building among scholars.

Qualified scholars under the PHINMA National Scholarship may receive the following assistance:

  • 100% tuition and other school fees
  • Monthly allowance of ₱3,000
  • Annual book allowance of ₱2,000
  • Annual uniform allowance of ₱1,500
  • Professional development allowance of ₱3,000
  • Financial assistance for graduation fees
  • Support for board examination review
  • Cash incentives for graduates with Latin honors
  • Participation in leadership and mentorship programs

Mentorship and Leadership Development

Scholars under the program may participate in mentoring and leadership development activities designed to help them build professional skills and community involvement.

These activities may include:

  • Assignment of a mentor from the PHINMA organization
  • Leadership and values formation training
  • Participation in community service programs
  • Access to professional networks and career opportunities

What are the qualifications?

Prior to application, interested applicants must ensure they meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen
  • Must be an incoming 1st-year or 2nd-year college student
  • Must be enrolled in a PHINMA partner university
  • Must come from a family with annual income not exceeding ₱300,000
  • Must not have an immediate relative who is a current or former PHINMA scholar
  • Must demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to community service

Philippine Normal University (PNU) – Manila

  • Incoming 1st Year
  • Education programs (English, Mathematics, Science, Information Technology)

Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) – Sta. Mesa

  • Incoming 2nd Year
  • BS in Accountancy

Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) – Manila

  • Incoming 2nd Year
  • Engineering programs (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics)

University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman

  • Incoming 2nd Year
  • Engineering programs (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electronics)

PHINMA University of Pangasinan

  • Incoming 1st or 2nd Year
  • Education and Engineering programs

What are the documentary requirements needed?

Applicants must prepare the following documents before applying:

Academic Records

  • Senior High School report cards (for incoming 1st-year students)
  • Latest college transcript of records (for incoming 2nd-year students)

Proof of Household Income

  • Latest Income Tax Return (ITR)
  • Payslips from the last three months
  • BIR Certificate of Non-Filing of Income Tax Return

Other Required Documents

  • Two recommendation letters from teachers or school officials
  • Recent utility bills from the past three months
